WHAT TO EXPECT
I had my Clear + Brilliant laser treatment done at Breckenridge Dermatology with Jorie, a Licensed Aesthetician. Jorie explained the treatment thoroughly and asked if I had any questions or concerns. She was extremely professional and super sweet. BTW, the Breckenridge office is gorgeous and very close to Whole Foods, bonus!
After all questions were answered she applied a topical numbing cream to my face and let it set in for 30 minutes. During the treatment, Jorie put protective eye covers over my eyes. The entire treatment lasted 20-30 minutes, she makes several passes over the skin with the wand. The treatment wasn’t as painful as say an IPL (click HERE for my IPL results), but it still was uncomfortable. It feels like light scratches or static rolling across the face. That doesn’t sound bad but she does each section several times, making the skin more sensitive with each pass. My skin is extremely sensitive so I think my pain tolerance is low (lucky me). After the treatment Jorie put SkinMedica’s TNS Essential Serum (all-in-one rejuvenating serum) and Colorsceince Mineral Sunscreen on my face.
POST TREATMENT
Post treatment, my face was bright red, a bit swollen and hot! But surprisingly, the heat dissipated by time I got to Vail (30 minute drive) and the redness dulled by time I made it home to Eagle (1 hour post treatment). So, I can truly say this treatment lives up to it’s name, the social (no downtime) laser. I actually put makeup on that night and wasn’t embarrassed to be seen at a social gathering less than 4 hours after my Clear + Brilliant.
Days 2 -4, my skin felt like sandpaper and a bit tight, similar to a sunburn or wind-chapped face.. But seriously this laser has no downtime! I continued with my skin regimen and wore my makeup. Jorie explained that it’s important to keep your skin moisturized, wear sunscreen and not to exfoliate until after day 10.
Day 5, the rough skin had sloughed off all of the damaged skin and I had “the glow” I was hoping for. I really noticed an improvement in the tone and texture of my skin and my lines around my eyes and mouth seem smaller and less deep. Also, my lips appear to be larger, compared to my before and after picture, must be from my SkinMedica HA5 Smooth and Plump Lip System (click HERE for my reivew).
I highly recommend the Clear + Brilliant treatment at Vail / Aspen / Breckenridge Dermatology. This treatment gives glowing results without taking you out of commission like other lasers can. For those of us with non-stop lives, this less invasive laser may be the best way to keep our skin looking bright and young- no matter what damage it’s seen.
