A Trip to Paris with My Daughter

Image

It all started with a favorite bedtime book many years ago... Fancy Nancy.  A dream to go to Paris together, just mother and daughter.  Stella Kate and I made that dream a reality in January and set off on an adventure for just the two of us!  We would love to share our favorites of the city with you, we hope you enjoy!

If we could have a spirit animal city... Paris is definetely ours.

Hotel Banke Opera - Paris

Where to stay in Paris?  Paris is organized by 20 arrondissements (neighborhoods).  Each arrondissements of Paris have their own peculiar charm.

We stayed in the 9th Arrondissement, the Opera Neighborhood at the Hotel Banke Opera.  The 9th arrondissement is both elegant and bohemian and the location was ideal.   With close proximity to important landmarks, such as Place Vendome, The Louvre or the Sacre-Coeur at Montmarte, Stella Kate and I were able to walk anywhere within 20 minutes.  We can't say enough good things about this boutique hotel that was once the headquarters of a bank.

Fun Fact: Stella Kate made Tik Toks with the Bellman!

Paris is an incredible city, a city that I've dreamt of visiting for years.  The history, the culture, and the lifestyle are fascinating and gave me a new perspective on life.  Walking the city with my favorite little girl and sightseeing are memories that I will cherish.

With so many landmarks to choose from and with only 4 days to do so, we kept a quick pace and visited the following places...

Shopping in Paris

"Paris is always a good idea." Audrey Hepburn.  I agree!

Shopping in Paris is unlike anything I've ever experienced... the village-like charm, cobblestone streets, cafes and gorgeous boutiques where this girls dream come true!  Stella Kate and I loved walking through the different arrondissements - window shopping the luxury stores; Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuiton, Channel and stopping in every little charming boutique.

Sacre-Coeur in Paris

With it's cobbledstone streets, artists and bistros... Montmarte is full of charm!  Perched at the top of the hill of Montmarte is the majestic church, Sacre-Coeur.  This church is the second most visited in Paris after the Notre Dame Cathedral and offers THE best views of Paris.  Stella Kate and I found our favorite little panini bistro and visited it several times, the food was delish!  This is also where my little became one with the parisians and purchased her first beret!

Eiffel Tower in Paris

It was "love at first sight."

Holding hands with my daughter, we literally stopped in our tracks, in awe of the Eiffel Tower.  We were in Paris together, looking at the Eiffel Tower!  A dream/plan we had made together while reading her favorite childhood book series Fancy Nancy years ago.  My whole life I've seen pictures of and watched movies about the Eiffel Tower,  but I wasn't expecting the actual size of it, nor the emotion I felt seeing it for the first time.

Stella Kate and I decided to climb the Eiffel Tower and it was such a delight watching her run up the stairs, facetiming her dad and sharing the experience with him.  We stopped on the first floor and I enjoyed a glass of rosé and Stella Kate had a pastrie at Bulle Parisienne.  I recommend getting to the tower just before dusk so you can see it in the light and see it as the sun sets, it's absolutely stunning.

A trip to Paris would not be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower.
