How To Style Silk 3 Ways

I don't know about you, but come November my social calendar is bananas.  From school events, mom's night outs, Thanksgiving and work parties it feels like I'm never home at night to netflix and chill.  During this festive yet chaotic time, it's nice to have a few looks in mind for such events.  So I've selected 3 silk pieces out of my closet; blouse, pants and a dress to create 3 looks for 3 different events;  Mom's Night Out, Thanksgiving Waist Band and Office Christmas Party.  I love pairing silk with more casual pieces, it creates that chic effortless look.

My mantra is denim all day everyday so, for a Mom's Night Out I threw on my high waisted Jcrew denim.  They are super comfy and flattering, especially in the lower tummy area, moms you know what I'm talking about!  This silk blouse is from Jcrew as well and I payed $39 for it a few years back.  I love how this top instantly dresses up my casual look, just because of the material.  My Sam Edelman heels have been in constant rotation and with the block heel they are easy to dance in.  Ok, I haven't been clubbing lately, but I do throw a good dance party in my kitchen with my favorite dancing queen, Miss Stella Kate!  Only recent purchase with this look is the faux crocodile clutch from Amazon.com.  Let me tell you, this little number looks super high quality with a price tag of only $35, and if you have Amazon Prime free shipping!!!  Next on the dockett, Mom's Night Out for a viewing of Bad Moms Christmas.   There may or may not be purses filled with canned wine?

So I finally jumped on the silk pajama pant trend this past summer.  I had my eye on a pair from Anthropologie but didn't want to spend $108 on something I wasn't sure of.  So I scooped these bad boys up when Anthro had their sale and got them for only $40!  My opinion of the silk pajama pant trend? In Love!  I say yes, when an item is unique, stylish and has a elastic waistband, duh!  Who doesn't want a little give on Thanksgiving day?  Personally, I love to have a whopping plate and then go for seconds.  I paired these pants with a casual wool turtleneck sweater from Jcrew Factory, my favorite Sam Edelman Heels and this bargain faux-crocodlie clutch from Amazon.

Ok ladies, do you dread picking out an outfit for your Holiday work party or for your child's choir concert?  I know I do. I don't want to be over dressed or under dressed, I like to be right in the middle of the spectrum.  For my husband's Christmas work party, which is always in November, I know that there is a wide range of attire;  jeans and a sweater to formal floor length gowns.  Shopping my closet I kept going back to this Myne Heidi dress.  Nomally it's my go to in the summer but when paired with a black blazer it definitely tranisitions into a fall look.  FYI, I fell in love with this dress at a high end boutique, but found it for a steal on Ebay.com, #winning!
