6 Ways to Use Coconut Oil in Your Beauty Routine
My New Favorite Organic Beauty Product
What can't coconut oil do?
I've been incorporating coconut oil into my skincare routine for two months now and I am a fan, a huge fan!
I know that the coconut oil hype isn't anything new but after reading about the many beauty benefits I had to try it out for myself. What's all the fuss about? Well, this little natural organic beauty product has me swooning, not only about the benefits but also about the price.
Today, I am sharing my favorite ways to use coconut oil and show you how you can incorporate C.O. into your beauty routine.
Beauty Benefit #1- Makeup Remover
My absolute favorite way to use coconut oil is as a makeup remover. Every night I start my skincare routine with a tablespoon scoop of C.O. and massage it onto my face in small circular motions. The coconut oil emulisifies into an oil and feels soothing and comforting to the skin while it quickly breaks down your makeup - even waterproof mascara! But it's important to remember that coconut oil only removes the makeup, you still need to cleanse your skin after.
Beauty Benefit #2 - Face Moisturizer
It's fall y'all and I don't know about you, but my skin is dry! At night I have been loving the added moisture I get from a little coconut oil. I apply my skincare first - serum, moisturizer and eye cream then as a fininshing touch I apply C.O. to the dry areas on my face for that extra quench of moisture. Not sure I would recommend coconut oil for day time use, but I do know that it looks amazing as a highlighter on the cheekbones ( I guess that's another beauty benefit).
Beauty Benefit #3 - Body Moisturizer
If you are looking for sexy, shiny and hydrated legs then give coconut oil a try. Seriously I love how this looks and feels on the body.
Beauty Benefit #4 - Shaving Balm
If you suffer from razor burn, swap out your shaving cream with coconut oil. I kinda sorta forced my husband to try this and he was shocked at the results - no more razor burn on his face! Smooth over a thin layer of coconut oil onto your legs before shaving to trap that moisture in and leave your legs feeling as smooth as a baby's bottom.
Beauty Benefit #5 - Nourish Cuticles
Simply rubbing a small amount of coconut oil onto the cuticles will help with moisturizing and conditioning as well as revitalizing rough and ragged cuticles.
Beauty Benefit #6 - Lip Balm
I love to start and end my day with applying a small amount of coconut oil to my lips for the ultimate hydration. Added bonus, plain coconut oil makes for a superb lip gloss as well - Very shiny!
